Been almost 4 years, runs good, decent mileage, all that.

Today, took it out for a spin, noticed it was bogging a bit. WOT, a bit of roar I wasn't used to.
Got worse.
On the way back from visiting the daughter and grand daughter, got real bad. Tried to come up the hill to home, normally pulls it in third, barely (20MPH)in second.
Did the normal..checked advances, points, rotor, cap. Dwell was 37, which is 35 + or - 2, so okay. Checked oil in air cleaner, clean.
Replaced fuel filter (always some rust), decided to balance the Solexes, as I knew they were out. Held throttle, set UniSyn on #1 carb, slipped it back to #2.....ball stayed on the bottom, Tried moving the ball up on #1, re-tried #2, nothing.

Hmmmm. Looked closely.....clamp from shaft to #2 carb had come loose. I was running on front carb all the way home.
Got 'em balanced, so we'll see if it's smoother!

Got 'em balanced, so

Oo0F!! How could it NOT be smoother now, Dave?!?

Single-carb Jags ain't much fer pullin' a hill, y'know...

Weather sucks so bad ,might as well be balancing the carbs

I'd had this "nibble" at part throttle. I KNEW the carbs needed to be balanced at part throttle.....just have had too many family things and I haven't felt like it.......with Fibromyalgia, you don't just "get over" things......two courses of antibiotics, not too bad, but it's been a week since they were done, and it hasn't been fun.

Just got back, geez maneeze....zips right along, it does......no nibble I could find.....and my power brake pedal jacking issue may be either resolved or greatly minimized......I'll have to look closer, but it does appear the vacuum port is only off the rear carb intake.......

We'll that :iagree: explains that

Would explain why I have brake booster vacuum, but not enough. I can't trace the "hump" of the vacuum line forward of the rear carb runner.
