Fireworks - on the 3rd of July?

Last night we heard fireworks.Turns out that Roanoke
did theirs on the 3rd.
That's just not right.

Details, details. Many towns choose dates other than the Fourth, usually for convenience sake. Like choosing different dates for Halloween(!). Our town here in Connecticut chooses July 3.

Speaking of details - the Declaration of Independence wasn't even signed until August 1776, altho' it was approved by the Second Continental Congress on July 4.

Oh, you mean the "official fireworks". The unofficial fireworks started last month.

With OH approving the private use of fireworks, round here they were going off all weekend as well as Monday night.
