I finally got done with the painting. I got to back the car out after putting the wheels back on and removiing the tape and finally rip down all that plastic that had been up for months. Here are some pictures taken outside. I hate the camera that I have. when I got the car in the light for the metallic yellow to show good then if made the paint look dark and dim. Anyways here they are.

great! very unique

I love the color... great choice... probably no others like that around

Great job on the paint - can't wait to see it all back together & detailed!

My knee has been feeling a bit better with the new brace. I am so glad that is done. Now I can go back to the more piddly things. Not sure what I will do next. Maybe put the dash back on. I have a new carpet set somewhere as well. I gotta find it.

Nice work, congrats.

Glad your knee is feeling better, now take it easy with it.

I think the paint looks great. Good job. Post more pictures as you go along getting it back together.

Great color. Nice work.

I think one of the best parts of owning an LBC is that you want to do as much as possible yourself and find out that you can do much more than you ever imagined.

Looks great! I'm sure it's got your motivation back up, look forward to seeing it get put back together!

Looks awsome Kim!! I'll bet it feels great to get that part over with and move on to the next step!! If you are like me, you know where every little flaw is...Don't let them bother you!!! To everyone else they are invisible!!! You will be driving her soon and then the FUN begins!!!! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cheers.gif /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbsup.gif

I wonder, I just wonder what it would like with some black raceing stripes.

I really think it would look quite good Jack! Kim, if you are interested, I can send you some flat black vinyl striping material (at a future date, since you should allow the paint to "cure" for a while!). If you did not like the look, with vinyl it is quite easy to remove with no damage to the paint!

Kim..good work and recovery....from what I've heard metal flake is tough...if you've mastered that you should be able to handle about any painting project!

Hey BTW I've got a couple barns out here that need a respray...<chuckle>

Kim,

So when should I trailer my Midget up to NC? /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif She could use a paint job like that!

Great job!
Ha ha ha ha, the painting was not as bad as all the stuff you have to do before hand. T'will be awhile before I paint another, but I learned a lot about basecoat clearcoat and different paints.

Seems like it would be more cost effective to by him a plane ticket & have him come visit... /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cheers.gif

Kim, you are right about prep work - man that's the worst part of any paint job be it house or car or whatever.

Again, it looks like your car is really shaping up - can't wait to see further progress pics!

Thank you all for your comments. Working on this little car and reading what ya'll are talking about has helped me a lot in these hard times for me. Thanks especially to rick for his messages to me. I look forward to them. Its it such a relief to have this done. I need to keep at this thing, but right now I just keep looking at it in my garage. I need to make a plan and write down what I need to do next on a list. I need to think it through. I was gonna put on the dash next but then I thought I need to put the wipers back on first.
