Well, my engine was finished and it all went back together well. I did a .060 bore with a mild street cam. Here's a pic of it back in the car. At first I didn't notice a real difference, but after being on the highway I can really tell. It keeps pulling through the gears in the mid RPM range, especially 3rd and 4th. It also makes the whole car feel "lighter" if that makes any sense. I also used Crane lightweight pushrods and a whole new valvetrain. The head was left pretty much alone, just cleaned up.

Nice and neat Matt! IIRC you went with a Crane cam, yes? I've one in the B here and have nothing but praise for it. Good "manners" for street use and it pulls well right thru the range. I put new lifters/pushrods in but not Crane. It now has around 75~80K miles and still runs strong... I still cringe a bit over the 0.060" overbore, but you said there were plenty of your local club guys with the same overbore so I guess that gives my B a real "lease on life" yet! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
 
Nice, Matt - watch the temp closely for a bit until you're comfortable with that 60-over bore.
 
Surprisingly, it runs cooler. But I think my mech put in a cooler T-stat. I expected to need to remove a Monte Carlo grill badge and maybe even the fog lights but its OK so far! No more accidentally chirping the tires in 1st like I used to, though, it doesn't pull as strong right off the bat like it used to. The again, I haven't really tried to chirp them, so maybe when I'm more at ease I'll try driving a little more aggressively!
 
Still, 60-over makes for awfully thin metal in some places.
