Finding an old healey

Any ideas on how to track down a healey with just a license plate number. Got pictures of my dads 58 100-6 with the license plate number. He traded the car in late 59 or early 60, Spokane, Washington. Would love to find the car. I have his original workshop manual but he did not put the VIN number in the book. Jim

How about contacting the "Dept of Motor Vehicle's" for the state of Washington? Missouri used to run a license plate "history" for about $7.00. I did it for my car and received about 3 last known copies of title's. Of course if the car leaves the state they lose track. Worth a shot. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cheers.gif

mc130p, back then they didnt use computers as we do today your dmv would have a paper card or a micro physh? record but thats a long time ago and those records might not have been saved, but stranger things have happened a friend that grew up in uruguay left behind one of the original mini cooper s's that were ever built, one evening while he was operating his ham radio someone heard this story over the airwaves tracked down the car bought it and had it shipped here to the states for my friend, what are the chances of that ever happening? dont give up hope keep looking! try the registries, clubs , the original dealer etc. did your dad ever get a ticket? the police might have a record of the ticket and be able to use the plate number to cross ref. the vin # im not sure how all that would work but like you said anything you try now is gunna be a long shot,good luck,/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/savewave.gif
