It's behind that tree across the pond.

Was that a kit? Low cost from the mid 70s, maybe. Porsche 914 seats.
Izzat a GM steering column?

I've seen worse. Overpriced IMO, but not ghastly to look at.

6th picture from top, unmistakeable windshield frame.
Also looks like Midget door handles were used.

It appears to me to be a complete Midget tub including the top frame. So it looks sort of like a cobra, but with attached top and roll up windows.

Power windows? How did he swing that?

Cool colors in that advert.

Yikes, $35K for a Midget in 1983 ?!

That's eighty one THOUSAND cash American dollars in 2012 money...

I don't care if the skid marks down the center came from Carol Shelby himself!

FUGLY!

You could just darn near get a real Cobra for that in '83. If only I had the cash, I could have had one for $10K in '76.

OK, here's another:

The Clenet - $75,000 in 1983

Once again, proof positive: there's no such thing as a $2,000 hooker, just a $2,000 John.

One thing is for sure, whoever paid 75K for one of those in '83 definatly got fully serviced. :eeek:

Looks like it was an "Ayers" Cobra kit. Here's a link to the brochure: https://www.ebay.com/itm/1983-Ford-Cobra-427-Ayers-Kit-Car-Brochure-/260375424461

Good find Rick. I gotta say, that's not a bad looking conversion. I like the lowback seats shown in the brochure better than the Modget seats shown in the white/blue car.

The other one I like is the Dragonfly. I had an Arkley once, (part of a two car deal), but I sold that before I could even relocate it. The buyer did something nice with it though.

Interesting thread here

Apparently the seller had no idea what he had.
