On the 74 that that belongs to the old man I am helping I finaly got the brakes to work properly.

The clunk that rebuilt the front disk brakes had put the wrong halves together so I could get nothing but leaking lines when I bleed them.

The wish to kill is strong.
 
You mean they took the two halves of the calipers apart and mixed them up when they put them back together!?
 
Yes, the holes then did not line up and the entire system was unworkable.

The only reason to post this is to hopefully prevent this most frustrating event from happening to some other poor guy. Or at least enable them to recognize the problem and solution when it happens.
