Finally - We're Getting A House!

Nice place. Don't know if you've lived in a home with a garage-under before but there's a few things to watch for. Don't run the cars inside, the CO will leak upstairs into the bedrooms and kill you. Same thing with painting and other aerosols will stink up the whole place. Also, if your furnace room is located off the garage, be careful of any vapours or gasses that might explode when the burner kicks in.

The fence just has small gates,so I'm thinking aboute
putting in one big enough to get the pickup through. That way
we could park a bunch of British cars in the back yard.

Great house! But don't start collecting cars again! Last time they overwhelmed you to the point of having a bunch of cars that all needed something. One (or two) that run - then drive em like you stole em!

It said "four car garage" in the listing, but I should be able
to get the GT,Midget,& the F150 in there.
JP,I'm not planning on adding any more project cars, although
I am tempted to pick up a running Miata,as a dd.
The remark about British cars meant that if we had a
get-together with other British car owners, they could all park in
the backyard.

fair enough

Congratulation. All houses should be built around the garage. Geez can’t believe I’m saying this.

Like the carport in the back!

Nice work. Best of luck. My brother went to UVA and has lived in Charlottesville for many years and is another car nut. He owned a house in Roanoke that he turned over to his daughter who still owns it. I believe it's rented as she lives in Richmond. Pretty country out there. But remember this - PD's Law: "Junk expands to fill the space available". You'll just have to fill that 4-car garage with LBC's before that old refrigerator moves out there to join the lawnmower, snow blower, leaf blower and all the other stuff we just can't seem to live without.

That's what the storage shed in the backyard is for -
lawnmowers,etc.
We're trying to work out a deal with at least
one of the riding mowers out back.Tempted to by a
tractor - just because, but common sense (& budgets)
will prevail.

Glad to hear you are going to be closing on a home soon. I live in SW Roanoke, what part of town will you be in? Feel free to call me, you still have my number? Lewis
