After 34 years, my BE is legally on the street.

Got my Registration and Plate yesterday. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/driving.gif

Took it's first trips out of the neighborhood after being "under restoration" or in storage for 34 years.

Actually drove it down to the gas station and filled it up !!!!!

A few issues cropped up, the main one being that the clutch slips alot around 3000 rpm. Have to investigate that.

But, it's finally on the road !!!!! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cheers.gif

Thanks to everyone here who has provided support and answers in the final 4 months of getting this project out on the road. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thankyousign.gif

Now that it can be driven more than up and down the street, I have to wring out the issues that pop up, so I'm sure I'll be back looking for more help.

Way to go. Looking forward to getting mine back on the street sometime soon.

Great looking car, I wish you were closer to my side of the state so I could see it in person, not allot of Sprites over here. Good job

On the 0ther hand, I heard the owners of MG were bringing back the Austin Healy name

Looks great, hope you get the clutch sorted soon so you can get some miles on it before winter gets here!

WOO-HOO! & I just felt great sitting on the new seat in my TD today & play driving!

Back on the road, it's a good thing! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbsup.gif

Pix please

Got the clutch sorted out (just adjust the master cylinder rod - thanx spritenut).

Getting alot of use out of the car the last few days - Geez are these fun to drive !!!!!!!

Everyone stares and waves and wants to know about the car.

Over the last 4 months of getting everything done to get back on the road, I was starting to get really worried about how reliable the car would be. I could never start the car 2 days in a row without playing with the carbs: stuck float needles, leaky float, mixture adjustments, lots of trouble with the floats,...

Now, knock on wood, the car has started and run the first time 4 days in a row, multiple times each day, cold starts, hot starts.

It's so much fun to drive!!!

Now there's still a lot of work to do this winter to fix things not required for driving (interior lights, speedo, gas gauge, suspension work, rebuild the master cylinder, bonnet paint job...)

But I'm on the road, driving as much as I can before the winter.

Did I mention how much fun it is to actually DRIVE !!!!!

Hopefully, I'll get some time this weekend to take some pics and post them.

PATR8 - I'm hoping to be at the 50th celebration in Carlisle next May for the weekend if I haven't run the car into the ground by then.

Don't think I'll be making the ozarks - can't get the time off from work.
