finally posted pictures

you're correct, it is the wrong one. yours is from a rubber bumper car. The split bumper cars have the license plate lights inside the bumper ends themselves

and no I wasn't looking at your girlfriend's bum

JP - Joe.
I have a 74 1/2 and has the same rear plate holder, I've seen another 74 with the same as well.
I'm just wondering if (at that 6 month period) they already had them, and threw them on.
Check Horlers, p. 91
Or there could be a bunch of rear-ended 74's with RB parts on?

Nice Midget though. Looks great.

entirely possible - the question is - are there lights in the bumper?

Didn't we have pictures on this board recently of a Midget with a rubber bumper front and chrome rear (or vice versa) and someone said they had seen another - (which actually makes less sense to me as the front and rear fender pressings are different.)

ahhh, on pg 91, that's exactly my setup, I have the sabrina's, they came with the car, and in that picture it has the same license place holder.

nice find !!

so perhaps my setup is correct?

that post about the rubber front and chrome rear was my post !! I just looked that car up, and it has the same setup as mine, chrome with sabrina's. And the car sold for $4500, nice !! but still odd with the rubber front.

it's amazing how many 'factory' variations there are.

Trust me...that rubber front/chrome rear car did not come from the factory that way!

while I agree with you, why would someone put a rubber bumper on a car? or, remove the rear rubber bumper, only to put the over-riders on the chrome bumper?

weird

joe
Ask Jack about the Midget we saw in Missouri that's a round wheel arch on one side, square on the other, vent window door on one side, non-vent on the other, trunk lid with Bugeye front & all sorts of other weird things.....

Nah..somewhere, sometime ago, somebody was goofing off...now, years later, everybody thinks they've got a real rare car....fool born every day.

Didn't Johnny Cash write a song about a similar car?

I love ya Tony, but I believe the 74 1/2's (With Sabrinas) were an odd breed, and they came with lights outside the bumpers.
A lot of things happen in inter-model years, no more radical than the 74 - 75 switch.
I know that plate holder isn't correct for 73's and early 74's but I beg you to find a Sabrina Midget without them.
Again from Horlers...P.91
"At the rear, the large rubber buffers dictated that new chromedlicence plate lamp units be placed in a new position, either side of the licence plate on the rear body panel."
From GAN5-143355 (Dec 73)
North American Cars: Front and Rear licence plate supports changed, licence plate lamps changed and fitted to rear panel. RHD Engine mounting changed, large energy-absorbing rubber buffer overriders. P.117

I'm agreeing with you Baz...but, I didn't say anything about the those lights...I was talking about the '74 with chrome rear bumper & rubber front bumper...
