The engine has been painted and is mostly assembled. The engine and all of the removable parts were stripped, wire-wheeled, cleaned and painted. The majority of the engine is Ford gray. Steel accessories are gloss black. Aluminum parts were painted with Dupli-color’s amazing cast aluminum paint (Thanks Hap!). Radiator fan is gloss yellow. All gaskets and seals except for the head gasket were replaced.

VERY nice! :chuncky:

Looks nice, David. Whats that oil filter housing off of?? Every one I've ever come across mounted the filter closer to the block and straight up and down.

Kurt.

Kurt,

That was on the car when i got it. The piece that bolts to the block was original to the car and the spin-on mount was swapped from the old cartridge type. I think the angle is to accommodate clearing the frame on the bugeye, below is the best pic I can find. I think if it was straight it would be hard to change the filter.

Nice work!

Paint looks great almost like powder coated so smooth, color grey looks like the color I need for my Yamaha Outboard engine covers. I will look at Ford.

The gray is Dupli-Color DE1611 Ceramic New Ford Gray Engine Paint. Engine paint is not really required from a heat standpoint, but is more resistant to chemicals.
