Finally got my red distributor cap and spec plate

Thanks to TRF and the Krylon company, I was able to complete a few more steps in the engine compartment. I had a spare new Lucas cap sitting around and found some new Krylon paint that is specifically made for plastic and requires no sanding. So after several good cleanings and a few coats left to dry in the sun here is my red cap installed on the Advanced Distributor rebuilt and recurved distributor. the car runs just great, so thanks to Jeff at Advanced and TRF for the new emissions plate to replace that stupid vinyl that wrinkles no matter what I tried to do with it.

The Krylon plastic paint comes in many colors so you could match the green or blue ignition wiring available in the aftermarket if so desired.

I nearly forgot; the wires are Moss Magnecor Racing Wires.

Thanks Shannon, but as you know it's never over. All it takes is one magazine article or picture and we're back at it again.

Re: Finally got my red distributor cap and spec pl

Why don't you reroute the vacuum booster line along the firewall behind the valve cover?
I bet you could have the dipstick chrome plated this winter for around $30. Or Krylon makes a "chrome" version...

Re: Finally got my red distributor cap and spec pl

Not a bad idea. If I can just find the hose now I'll be fine. TRF has been on B/O for 2 months and I don't think that Moss sells is any longer.

Dipstick may go with modern auto look of yellow, just to add some contrast in there. I think that Shannon or one of the other guys may have done this and that's where I got the idea.
