After searchine high and low and scowering the internet looking at every bugeye for sale I have finally purchased my first LBC! I trailered it home 60 miles today and it now sits in my driveway ready to be unloaded in the morning.

Thanks to all of you who helped!

Congrats! May you have many years of top-down bliss.

Re: Finally found my Bugeye

Thanks!

I plan to take some pics tomorrow when I unload it.

It's a 60 bugeye with a 1275, ribcase and disc brakes on the front. Original cherry red paint no rust in the floors, sills, fenders or any other place I was told to look /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I plan to start striping it this weekend.

Sounds good. Nice updates. Take lots of before and after pics. Mostly have fun driving it, no matter how it looks! Enjoy it!

Re: Finally found my Bugeye

Oh wow! That looks great. Looks like the electrics in the dash are a bit off kilter, along with the tac?! and the dash itsself. but all in all an excellent find.
nice and solid. even presentable with a little TLC.

Re: Finally found my Bugeye

Speedwell Engineering sells fiberglass replica dashes, should you want to go that way.
Overall, it looks like you scored a major find with this one.

Looks like a keeper! Good luck!

Re: Finally found my Bugeye

I think you have a gem. Keep us posted as you progress. I just returned from Aiken, SC this weekend and they had a nize Morgan rally.
Very nice town.

You got a neat looking Bug! I can't figure out, what is that rectangular thingy on the valve cover? Nice lil winter project for you and the youngin!

Re: Finally found my Bugeye

Its a breather of some sort. Maybe it was a stock item on a 1275? Im very new to these LBC's but am having more and more fun by the minute!

Dissasembly has begun. I hope to have the engine out this weekend and start building the rotisserie so that I can start stripping paint.

More pics to come soon.
