Finally - Engine and transmission installed

After five years of on again\off again work on this car, I finally installed the engine and transmission. (Pic attached) I had a little issue with the Rivergate conversion installation - A combination of me not thinking through things and a lack of clear, concise instructions from Rivergate concerning the transmission mount. In any event, it's in and lots more work to go.

Photo didn't attach. Let's try again.

Nice and I love the color. hehe.

You will love the 5 speed. I this last year went to a 3.9 rear end and really like that.

I'll probably make the 3.9 a later upgrade. Just getting the BE running is my first priority. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

WOW! great job! I look at what you and jack have done and i can't wait to get there myself. congrats!

Nice work, congratulations. Always good to see another Bugeye heading towards the road again.

Don't forget to paint the bonnett hinges black.

Boy, you two will HAVE to park side by side at the "50 years of Sprigets"!! Nice!!

Jack

Why black hinges? Everything that I've read or seen says that the bonnet mounting hinges along with the associated bolts and washers were painted the same color as the rest of the car.

Looked at Horler this morning. Couldn't find that he "said" anything one way or the other. All the photos in his book, however, have the hinges painted the same as the body color. The concours guys say body color for what it's worth.

ncbugeye has never been restored, although she has been resprayed on the outside, and she has OEW hinges.

FYI..Just went out with sharp knife and did scientific test. On the Sprite here, hinges Iris Blue..same as origional body color. Now to find that rattle can of black..lol

Jack says his orginial was black hinges. shrug. Don't supose it makes a hill of beans eather way.
