Beautiful result - What is the reason behind having the inter-connect pipe between the air filters ? I have never seen this before. Have you experimented and found it idles better ? Has it more power ? Or any other performance or engineering advantage ?

Andrew, Yes that is a Offenhauser cover. I bought it off Ebay
Eric, It's a shade darker than Primrose. Just couldn't match exactly.
Keith & Pat, I bought the entire interior from a guy in Ohio. I don't know the rules of this forum
but if you want PM me I will give you the information. I worked a lot but not everyday,
I found with this being a complete frame off. Pictures and lots of notes, plus having a game plan
kept me on track. The car was in the body shop almost 4 months. A friend and I did all the body work
and we only worked on the weekends
Don & Moses, I just like those air cleaners. After polishing them up I bent a piece of SS tubing
and hooked them together to cover up the pipes coming out the centers. I don't think they have
any effect on the motor they just look finished.
My car was in many pieces when I started so I don't have a lot of before picts. I did take pictures of every stage has I went along. Again Thanks so much.

The air cleaners sound like they were probably for a TR4 with the early emission control (hoses into the air cleaners).

So you took over someone elses project since it was in pieces?

I kinda like it a bit more yellow mine seems a bit washed out bur as I uncover original out of the sun paint the underlying stuff is brighter.
