Finally after 2 1/2 yrs It's almost finished

Great job. I am sure once you get it on the road and can drive it all the time you will even feel better. I bet you will have a smile on your face for weeks. Again great job.

Very nice work. Just wait for all the thumbs and compliments you are going to get. The TR3 will put a lot of smiles on other drivers!
Again great job!

oops! not just thumbs, but thumbs up!

Beautiful job Greg! Post more photos if you can. I've got lots to learn from you. Am also interested in the interior color and where you purchased your interior part (seat covers, door panels, etc.

Pat

Beautiful result - What is the reason behind having the inter-connect pipe between the air filters ? I have never seen this before. Have you experimented and found it idles better ? Has it more power ? Or any other performance or engineering advantage ?

Great!!!
Another TR3, ready for the road!
Like Don, I am also curious about that "bar" on the air cleaners. What is that thing?

Sort of reminds me of Naven Johnson's "Opti Grab"

That car is a thing of beauty and it's yellow too!! It can't get any better than that!!

Thanks everyone for the kind words. Your comments mean a lot to me.
Andrew, Yes that is a Offenhauser cover. I bought it off Ebay
Eric, It's a shade darker than Primrose. Just couldn't match exactly.
Keith & Pat, I bought the entire interior from a guy in Ohio. I don't know the rules of this forum
but if you want PM me I will give you the information. I worked a lot but not everyday,
I found with this being a complete frame off. Pictures and lots of notes, plus having a game plan
kept me on track. The car was in the body shop almost 4 months. A friend and I did all the body work
and we only worked on the weekends
Don & Moses, I just like those air cleaners. After polishing them up I bent a piece of SS tubing
and hooked them together to cover up the pipes coming out the centers. I don't think they have
any effect on the motor they just look finished.
My car was in many pieces when I started so I don't have a lot of before picts. I did take pictures of every stage has I went along. Again Thanks so much.

Greg

The air cleaners sound like they were probably for a TR4 with the early emission control (hoses into the air cleaners).

So you took over someone elses project since it was in pieces?

Scott

Absolutely gorgeous =) I may only be a TR6 owner currently... but a nice TR3 is my eventual goal! Of course, i've got to get through restoring my 'driving project' with the TR6 and paying everything off before I worry about finding a 3 =D

Greg, that is absolutely beautiful! Inspiring for those of us with projects which are currently being held up by all the other important tasks in life which get in the way.

I kinda like it a bit more yellow mine seems a bit washed out bur as I uncover original out of the sun paint the underlying stuff is brighter.

Scott, I think your right about the air cleaners. Yes, the p.o. had taken all the fenders and front cal off so that saved me a lot of work.
