Finally!!!! A Driver

Received and installed a new rear intake manifold from Goodparts yesterday. Started the car this evening and it dropped down to an acceptable idle.

I was trying to make the old manifold work, but the balancer and heater return hoses just didn't allow for the necessary alignment of the throttle shafts. Without any adjustment, the new manifold allows the shafts to fully return without binding.

Brosky's suggestion on the original lighter weight throttle shaft connectors was a lot of help. The reproduction ones are too rigid for the triple carb set up(at least for mine).

Richard Good is great to do business with. He has been very helpful several times during this engine build.

Now I can start driving the car!!!

Wonderful driving weather indeed. The changing of the season is about as good as it gets. There could be two months of drive time left...maybe more.

Doug, the other connectors are just too stiff for any triple setup. The best is what you have now. Good luck and happy motoring!!

Sorry to hijack this thread, but, is triple intake related.
Paul, did the guy down in the south ever finish the "trip" TBI installation on the other forum?

That's right it was you Greg.
Who else is doing this.
Is AFI still working on the file set up?

As far as I know they are. The other customer, and he was before me, had some tragedy strike this summer, and it delayed the research. I'll let you guys know when I receive the kit.

Don,

I thought that Erik Nygaard of Her Majesty's Service installed a Patton kit on triples this summer. You guys might want to email him and ask about it.
