Health Update - some of you have asked how I am doing as you noticed an absence of posting. Well I finally saw a doctor this afternoon and all my various test results were in. My doctor was my surgeon and I was grateful to see him. For the record I have not been feeling well and have pretty much been in bed. Attempted one shopping trip and that did not go well. My meds have undergone a drastic change and the diuretic was one that was removed. There seems to be a question of who prescribed and why. I never questioned it during my hospital stay but I did question the eye drops for glaucoma, which has never been diagnosed. The test results showed anemia probably as a result of the diuretic. Vitamin B12 for a month will probably take care of that. Fortunately my kidneys have not been damaged. The oxygen sleep test resulted in a diagnosis of sleep apnea. My doctor said that I was only getting 50% oxygen level for 6 hours of sleep. He said it can’t recall ever seeing such a low level. This was big concern for him. I will now have a sleep study done 6 or C-Pap for sleeping. My extreme exhaustion is probably a result of this. Lastly I have an appointment at the heart valve clinic to determine whether or not a valve replacement is in order now or if it can continue to be monitored. I have known about my heart valve problem for a very long time. Clearly from Rheumatic Fever as a child. I am in the gray area. While this is something I’ve been quite frightened of, after having a stint realize it’s not so bad. The valve replacement can be done through the groin. I watched the procedure on YouTube. In hospital one day for the procedure and discharged the next.

Well that is it. I now feel I can really look forward to renewed good health. My doctor was displeased with my not seeing him right away and said demanding to see a doctor is sad. Indeed I did have an appointment to see him a couple of weeks ago but someone decided that I didn’t need to see him until the first if the year. I suspect someone is in trouble

Having said all this I must say that I am thankful that Douglas took on the role of patient advocate for me as I was just too sick to care.

I am anxious to begin my real recovery. Thanks for being there for me.

Welcome back Judy!

A good lesson for all of us. Don't try to tough it out when you're feeling bad. See a professional, and keep seeing professionals until things get better. "Do It Yourself" isn't a good medical plan.

Take Care!

Egad. Be a good "patient" and keep Doug as your Advocate! You have to rely on someone who knows you to be aware of what's going on.

And you are in our thoughts over here, as well.

Glad you are moving forward, and glad you have Doug! Blessings!

Thanks for the update and keep on getting better.
