I'm looking to replace the filter element for the mechanical fuel pump with the glass bowl. Moss sells fuel filter part #377-436, Filter for Fuel Regulator which looks like the right part. Can anyone confirm if this is the right part or did I order the wrong one. Thanks for your help.

If the fuel pump is original with a glass filter bowl on the pump there isn’t a paper element filter in the bowl just a fine metal gauze mesh that siting at the top over the glass

Many fit an inline filter

Thank you very much for responding. Yes, I have the original AC mechanical fuel pump with the glass bowl. However, inside the glass bowel is what appears to be a paper filter. Please see the below photo. So the paper filter is not original? I've seen other pictures of the original AC mechanical fuel pump with the glass bowl on the internet and they appear to have some sort of paper filter in them. Maybe it was common at some point to fit a paper filter in them. Mine has been there for years and I was thinking it's time to check of change it. Maybe I should just remove it or possibly find another paper filter that will fit.

There was a similar discussion some years ago on a different website and someone suggested that a particular GM filter fit nicely in the bowl. Sorry, but I can't find the details. But, as suggested above, an in-line filter is the easiest way to go and I routinely add one in my cars.
