Just for informational purposes, I reported that the copper gaskets in the gasket set from BPN are thicker than the steel gaskets.

I actually mic'd the steel ones from my car, and they are .001 less thick than the steel ones that came with my new piston liner kit (which, as stated, aren't as thick as my copper ones).

In addition to this, the steel ones from my car are corroded and broken.

This all makes me wonder why anyone would not simply insist on using the thicker copper gasket. I'd say the steel ones may have been leaking, and may also have contributed to combustion leaks since the liners were not proud of the block.

I'll now return to my chess game.
