I just have to tell someone... my 100M won its class in the Forest Grove Concours d'Elegance last Sunday, marking its 50th birthday in style. I was told it achieved 99.25 points. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cheers.gif

A class win there has been a long-time goal, and it has finally been met! NOW maybe I can actually begin driving it a little bit... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

This was the 34th year of the Forest Grove Concours, which is conducted - not surprisingly - in Forest Grove, Oregon, a short distance west of Portland. Next year I'll enter the blue and white Healey (see photo below). Please wish me luck! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/driving.gif

Wow. Great win and a magnificent car. Looks like a cover for Healey Marque.

reid, that is magnificent, congrats, perhaps theyd given you the additional .75 points if you would just have gotten out of the car. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Awesome! You must be very pleased...I can't imagine how you will bring yourself to actually drive that beautiful piece of sculpture...I would be concerned about all those nasty air molecules colliding with the flawless paint. Good luck with blue/white!

PS - I hate the way side view mirrors look on a Healey too.

Wow, savor that. Hope you got lots of pics for memories.

Congratulations Reid! Cars don't win all by themselves. It's because of the attention to detail, the beautiful restoration that you've done. And that in itself is something to be proud of. Here's to your labor of love, what a Fabulous car! Best of luck next year with the blue and white. Cheers, Roger

Reid, What a beautiful car and what a great accomplishment...Congratulations!!!! We all know how hard you have worked and we all aspire that our efforts should result in such a beauty as yours...

I am well over fifty and should look so good.... Maybe a young wife??? AND a finished Healey... Ron

Outstanding!!! beautiful Healey ,Donald would be proud /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/lol.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/lol.gif

Reid, if you would like to get this on the Healey Marque cover let me know. (Let's just say I know someone). /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

What a beausumptious car! Congrats on the win .. well deserved!

Cheers,
John

Reid, One more thing, The red and black AND the Blue and white??? If you tell me you also have a beautiful young wife.... watch your 6 'cause I'm comin' after ya'... Nobody should be so lucky... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cheers.gif Ron

Funny that anyone should mention putting my car on the cover of Healey Marque... I wouldn't have thought of that myself, but now that you mention it...

To answer your question about my wife, she is the former Miss Teen Brazil, 2001, and second runner up in the Miss Teen Universe that year. She turns 21 later this year, and then she can buy beer when she does my shopping - hooray!

nah, that's my wife. But I'd trade her for the red and black.

Reid - Great looking "M", is there an article somewhere in the future as to the time and effort taken to complete such a beautiful driving machine!!!!!!!!!. Congratulations /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cheers.gif
on a job well done - jim /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/driving.gif

Well, there already was an article -- a four-pager with color photos -- about this car in the September-October 2005 issue of Austin-Healey Magazine. In fact, this car was on the cover of that same issue.

I was still editor of that mag at that time. That was the Golden Anniversary Issue for the 100M. Now that I'm editor of Healey Marque, I'm continuing the Golden Anniversary Issues there. The September issue of Healey Marque is, as you know, the Golden Anniversary Issue for the 100-6!

Reid - congratulations and good luck next year!

p.s. Merry is actually working on her article for you....
