Working at a dealership can have it's advantages. Take for instance the story of this Lexus. It's a 93 ES300. It came into our shop with an overheating problem, and of course with 280 thousand miles on the clock it has a plethora of other minor, but labor intense problems. It all boils down to the owner not wanting to put any more money into it.
So he bought a new car, and was offered zip for the ol lexus, and was getting ready to drag it to the U-pull-It when I offered $50, half jokingly, and he took it.
It's definatly seen better days, but with my free labor and a few new parts it's going to become an experiment in econo-luxury.
My ultimate intention is to turn a few bucks to fund the Jaguar, but It could prove to be fun in the meantime.
I'll post a pic as soon as I get one.

Or, the Jag could go to....

Nice Work! Sounds like ur in for some fun.....always thought the ES300 was a pretty good looking car, apart from the fact that it's a Lexus.

No harm in 'branching out' right tony?

I can't blame him for trying.
Sorry Tony. The fiddy dallah Lexus will go "down the road" long before the Queen Mum.

Tony- seems to me you need to add a SP250 to sort of round out the ownership experience. You are my shining example of the axiom -"there is no such thing as owning too many British cars". /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Found one outside Clarksville, TN a few years ago - stopped & talked with the guy...he didn't want to sell it...last summer while I was at Fort Campbell for 5 weeks, I drove back by - it was gone.

Update. I put a cheap set of plugs in there and cleaned the interior up. Also, I resealed the oil pan gasket. Today I drove it home. It runs nice. My co-worker that followed me to give me a ride back to the shop commented on the oil cloud coming out the back. I haden't even noticed it, but he's right.
SO it's sittin in the front yard to see what someone will pay for a used up Lexus. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif
I'll keep ya all posted /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Where was it, Tony?

Cutting across country at the last exit before entering Kentucky on way towards Ft. Campbell...on west side of road in a house sitting by itself with a long driveway before you get to the older subdivisions.
