I tripped over a website for a company in Florida mking a nice looking set of replacement bumbers for TR7's. Now I can't find them again, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Thats it! Thanks so much, I'll be using their rear bumper and a Group 44 replica front.
Thanks again.

I have mixed feelings about that rear bumper kit. I like the rear view a lot, but don't like the side view of it much at all.

The thing they have for the front for the TR7 just looks totally wrong for the car to me.

The Group44 kit that Lanochara Racing sells looks good, but is more agressive than I want for a street car, its definatly got some possibilities though.

I am kind of torn between a couple of options. One is leaving the sides and wheel arches alone and installing UK spec bumpers with a works rally type front spoiler and a small rear spoiler.

The other option, the one I'm leaning twards, is to install the MK3 body styling kit that Rimmer Brothers sells, but with a works rally type front spoler instead of the one in the kit.

If I screw up my patching of the sills and wheel arches on my project, I'll definatly be going with the MK3 kit.

I'll be using the whole Group 44 kit from Lanocha. I'll need to get as much rubber under the car as possible, and the front spoiler offers a gret place for an intercooler. I'm considering grafting thr MK II rear spoiler to the replacement bumper to bring the rear a little lower to the ground and hide the undercarriage more. Thanks again for the help.

When I first saw the pics of the Morspeed bumpers at British American, I liked the look of them because it was different. The more I looked at them, the less I liked them. When I noticed how the part of the rear bumper wraps around the corner and goes horizontal to the wheel well instead of following the original line, it was all over .

Right now I think I'll be using just the wheel arches from Rimmer with no rocker trim and have the rocker painted just like the car, front/rear UK GRP bumpers and works front spoiler. That is unless someone knows of better wheel arches than Rimmer.

I love the Group 44 replica kit from Lanocha and plan to build a coupe with it once I finish the DHC and the 930.

I'd like more info on the GRP bumpers, where can I find pictures of them. TR7/8, it sounds like you and I will be having a lot o fthe same problems trying to keep our TR's in one piece. Good luck, I can't wait to see yours.

Thanks

Todd,

The pic in my sig has the GRP(glass reinforced plastic) bumpers which can be bought from Rimmer Brothers or S&S in UK. Rick at S$S says the GRP bumpers they sell can be bolted directly on US spec bumper frames. Rick quoted me a shipped price of ÂŁ175.00 and with the current exchange rate of 1.89, it would be $330.75. A friend of mine from Europe says the rate usually drops to about 1.30-1.40 during the summer so I'm going to wait till then to purchase my bumpers from S&S and the tons of parts I need from Rimmer.

It will take quite a while to finish the car as I am on a tight budget but I dont want to cut any corners I am working as quick as money allows.

Have you started on your conversion yet? Like to see some pics of what your doing.

I'm not as far as you. I'm just stripping and cleaning the car now. Hopefully it'll go on the rotisserie next month. I'm trying to get the money for the John's Cars kit byb selling parts I don't need. We're all on a budget, eh? I'll start posting pictures as soon as I have something worth seeing.

Thanks

I'm using an 86-87 Buick 3.8 SFI turbo from a Grand National or Turbo Regal. With a few basic modifications and a larger turbo, I should be in the 550-600 HP range. I should be running low 10's in the quarter in full street trim.
