Watching Fox and Friends this morning and they had a story about a young college kid in Phoenix who had been saving his money to buy a car. He had $3300 in an envelop in his backpack! He was tired that day and left his backpack on a bench. He didn't realize he had forgotten it until 15 minutes later. When he ran back to the bench, the backpack - and his $3300 - was gone!! Days went by with no sign of his money and he figured all his hard-earned money was gone. Then several days later he got a call from (I think) a homeless shelter telling him they had his stuff - including the money!
It turns out a homeless man had found it and turned it in to the shelter. Initially they could not determine who owned it (no obvious ID on the bag), but days later someone found a thumb drive in the bottom of the bag and found the young man's resume and were able to contact him!
F&F had both of these guys, the student and the homeless man, on the show this morning. The homeless guy has been looking for work as a warehouse or equipment worker but unable to find work. So the hosts of the show put a "shout out" to employers in the Phoenix area for any employers who might be able to give the man a job to email them. Within a few minutes they said that they had already received several offers by email.
Imagine that scenario - a man with no money and no home finds $3300 that he could certainly use, but does the right thing and turns it in! Increases my faith in people.
