Tom, Agatha’s story has many twists and turns but to answer your queries, I always had a love for Healey’s. Got my first Healey from a barn in West Brookfield MA. Sold it to Classic Motors in Newton MA to get money for a down payment on a house. Found out she was a 100S. They were thrilled to get it and I got what I thought was a fair price. Also sold my horse and with a tax refund purchased a home. I once commented that I didn’t pine over the lose of the house because of a divorce nor did I pine over the loss of the husband or the loss of my horse but I did lust for another Healey. Second and forever husband presented me with Agatha. He got her out of a junkyard in Miami and every place we lived we moved her too. She was just a shell with most of her parts in boxes and Doug would always make sure she was garaged. He would duct tape her together so that I would remember what she would look like someday. Kismet and a whole other story, I came into unexpected money and that allowed us to have her restored. Our esteem leader pointed us in the right direction and there followed her restoration. We did not know at the time that she was an M and found out when we sent away for her Heritage certificate.
Most of Agatha’s story has been in the form of a few Healey magazine articles. She truly was meant to be. Succinctly this forum, a chance sighting of her in a junkyard on Doug’s way to work, a large casino win and a wonderful husband who listens to my words and knows what is important to me allowed for me and Agatha to have many adventures. I am looking forward to many more.
