Does it matter if the story is fiction? The theme is uplifting. Wouldn't this world be better if we extended a little kindness to each other?

There was an older man who wrote an unlifting book about when he was in a concentration camp during WWII - about a little girl who gave him apples....years later, according to the story, he met her on a blind date in the US & they got married.....everybody loved the story until somebody proved it wrong....then, they all hated the old man for telling them a lie.

I think the majority of folks want their uplifting stories to be truthful - unless it's a movie!
 
Marks post. Whether the story is fact or not, I think is good reading, as it relates to the thousands of good hearted people who do good things every day to make someones life a little brighter. You know some, your probably one your self. Most of them are unsung heroes who never get any recognition for their wonderful deeds, nor want any. I knew a Sunday school teacher like that once, who changed a little boys attitude about people when he was laughed at because his parents couldn't afford a suit for him to wear to Sunday school. His hair was always combed, his shirt and pants were clean and his shoes were a little tattered, but the snobbish members of the church let their kids laugh and torment him because he was poor and didn't dress up to their standards. That little boy never forgot that teacher either and the lessons she taught him. He grew up to be a success in life and never put someone down because they were poor or uneducated. He taught his children the same lessons and they also became very successful. And this <span style="font-weight: bold">IS</span> a true story. Kindness is a reward that most people never forget. Sorry for running off, but that's just me.
