i like it when it says an easy restoration and when completed the car will be worth 50-60 thousand dollars... asking 30 for the car and it will cost 40 t0 50 to fully restore...math challenged??

I also love it when you are selling something and someone offers a low cash number and emphasizes "cash", as if I would also accept marbles, chickens, or bananas.

I maybe willing to part with my beloved BJ8 for a dozen bannanas.......................

As long as they are diamond encrusted and 24carat gold:glee::emmersed::excitement::congratulatory:

"Original Miles" as opposed to what other kind of miles?

"Selling for a friend". Always makes me suspicious, you see it an awful lot, I always assume they are pre-establishing excuses for misrepresentations or not knowing about the car.

I agree. You do see it a lot, i've noticed. there's a pretty good looking MGB on the Bay right now that meets that criteria. I wouldn't deal with that kind of set-up.
Chris...

Runs and drives great, starter out.

Not seen too often, "Very British" What the, what does that mean, I'm very British.

Cranky, prone to breakdown or going out of adjustment, requires frequent fiddling if not outright repair. Traditional, unspoiled by progress. Yet elegant in a conservative, refined way.

Have I accurately described you? :eagerness:

I ran across one once that said "all original", then listed upgraded engine, new seats and carpets, mag type wheels, and a whole list of other non factory replacements. Apparently all original loses something in the translation...

Yes, with the current fashion for "survivor" cars, some people are anxious to label them that way, presumably to try to increase their interest to potential buyers. But with so many so-called "survivors" having new paint, carpet and seats, I tend to think of "survivor" as meaning the owner has neglected overdue mechanical work while completely losing the originality of the visuals.

Actually one of my old Jags is on ebay as we speak....Two interesting quotes from the ad....

" I hate to sell it" and "can easily be made into a #1 car"

As we know the difference betweena 2 and a 1 car is a full restoration....!!!!

"THERE IS NO RUST ON THIS CAR EVERYTHING IS SOLID AND WILL BE A EASY RESTORATION."
Easy restoration... is there any other kind?
