Spitfire Fastners for mounting heater control valve and bracket

Hello
Need some help. Making progress on the front end and have a question on mounting the bracket and heater control valve.
What fasteners are use to mount the heater control valve assembly to the bracket? The valve body has no threads in the holes and the brass flanged nipple has threads. Do you install long screws, so they extend pass the brass flange and tighten the body to the brass flange and then mount using the extra length? I attached a photo of the assembly.

Also looks like the bracket mounts to the firewall shelf and these do not seem to have captive nuts. Should there be some or is it just a bolt and nut under the dash.

Another question, what is the valve orientation, as I am holding it with the control lever up or should it be rotated 180 degrees.

Thanks

Assuming this is for the TR6, here is a photo of mine. The heater valve is threaded onto a pipe that threads into the block. A hose then run to the bulkhead connection.

Hi Don,

Yes, was a little confused as I saw Spitfire in the Category listing but when I looked at the vehicle listing I only saw the TR6....

Thanks Russ

Sorry, Sorry, Yes it for a Spitfire, the last of the TR6 was trailered out on this last Sunday. We had services for it.
Amended Signature. Will post progress photo tomorrow!

Can't believe you don't have answers for the 2 questions.
Guess we have no Spit owners HERE!!

Thanks Bruce100, and great link and good idea.

My son has our Spitfire or I'd have tried to answer. I know I replaced the one on his car but I cannot remember how the valve attaches to the bracket. I do remember that I tried to improve upon that seal between the block and valve and made things worse!

Hope this helps. On a 75. Sorry it took so long life got in the way.
