While replacing the rear shocks on my 67 Sprite I stripped one of the bolts.which attach the shock to the body. Where do you get replacement hardware for these cars?

Is there a list somewhere that informs the size and thread of the most popular fasteners used on the BE?
I'm thinking of the engine compartment for example, the bolts that hold down various plates and brackets, not to mention other conspicuous spots.
Some purist or concours list must exist somewhere?

Almost all the bolts on these cars are standard US/English (as opposed to metric) sizes. Most of the bolts are fine thread, but there are a few coarse thread ones. I use pretty much all grade 8 because it's not that much more expensive than grade 5.

Find a hardware store that has a good selection. I don't find that the big box hardware stores have enough selection, and they often offer things in prepackaged quantities. You need to find a hardware store that keeps the bolts, nuts, washers in little bins so you can buy as many or as few as you need. They're also cheaper that way. Ask around if you don't know of place in your area.

A good farm supply store will have what you need.

Kurt.

Yes, in my Tech section under the "Specs" drop-down menu. I have several references for thread sizes, torque specs, etc.

We have a store called Fastenall. I think they are a chain. If they don't have it they can get it next day. American made grade 8. Not Chinese copies. The only bolt I've had to buy from Moss are the windshield frame to body. 5/16" x 24 Oval head Phillips. OK that's an odd one.
