Farewell Mary Richards...

"Funeral for Chuckles the Clown" was one of the funniest ever:
And the lead up to this is even funnier (in the newsroom).

I doubt if there are many guys my age who didn't have a crush on her as a teen !

Right behind Annette Funicello, who we lost almost four years ago.

MTM and Annette - wow, I'm weak in the knees again.

One of MTM's first regular TV roles, was the telephone operator on Richard Diamond, Private Detective. We only heard her very sultry voice - and saw her *long* legs. That was it - and that was enough.

I feel faint.

And I really miss Mary Tyler Moore.

Remember Happy Hotpoint?

You know someone is an icon when they continue to appear in pop art; Weezer "Buddy Holly" (I just realized that song was released in 1994... a whopping 23 years ago... Age creeps quickly!)

"What's with these homies, dissing my girl?
Why do they gotta front?
What did we ever do to these guys
That made them so violent?
Woo-hoo, but you know I'm yours
Woo-hoo, and I know you're mine
Woo-hoo, and that's for all time

"Oo-ee-oo I look just like Buddy Holly
Oh-oh, and you're Mary Tyler Moore
I don't care what they say about us anyway
I don't care bout that"

I think it was Windows 95 - this video was buried somewhere on the install disk.
