...i just had my rad recored in my Chevy Healey and it has a big difference & it occured to me as my fan is 14" with a shroud around it (360o) that I could go to a larger more "aggresive" fan with no shroud...which would be more efficient??

What problem are you trying to solve? A shroud like you have forces the air through the radiator. An unshrouded fan will draw air from the path of least resistance -- a lot of the drawn air will not come through the radiator. What's wrong with what you have? Is it keeping the temp around 190?

..I was out yesterday and it never got over 190, very pleased with that, I was just wondering, maybe in heavy traffic a larger fan might be better......but traffic is no problem here anyway!!

I would be reluctant to give up that nice shroud if your temp is under control. Wait till you have a problem before changing anything.

I Regardless of the fans diameter a shrouded fan is always more efficient.--Keoke

I agree, leave the shroud on the car. I've had cooling issues in the past and did a somewhat home based, un-educated study to see how much air a fan will move vs how much air a car gets when moving forward. Fans don't move much air, they need all the help they can get.,,,hence the shroud.
