I have been using the wizard radiator in my TR4s for 10+ years. I also have the wizard radiator and Macy fan in my 2 year old TR3A restoration. Way to go!!!
Charley
The original factory radiator was ONLY hampered by air flow problems. The wimpy
factory fan only worked in cool climates. Up grading to the Tr7 fan cured all issues.

I think you will very happy with the set up. Mine is basically the same. I have a 160 sleeved thermostat and my engine runs about 175 and maybe about 185 on hot days.
I might argue that if your running 15 to 25 over the capacity of the thermostat the stat will be wide open, essentially the same as running without a thermostat. Not that there is anything really wrong with that as 175or185 is acceptable. Mine is similar with a Gates conventional stat. But it does indicate that the cooling system is inadequate.
The real test is coming off the highway after an hour or so at speed and meeting a traffic jam at the end of the off ramp.
Mad Dog is right on target with the TR7 fan above or the Tropical Fan if you can find one.
Tom
I got a tropical fan in 1975 by ordering it from the dealer. It was better, but had only 6 blades
and still could NOT cope with traffic on a hot day. Later I sold it at a swap meet like it were made
of gold. I should have ordered a dozen, but invested the money in diapers for #1 son.......

Ten years and 24k with the wizard radiator and their supplied spal fan with moss fan eliminator kit.
The rad cools so well the electric fan rarely comes on even on hot days.
Tom
I doubt you ever see 105 deg heat in NJ, but glad you are having good luck with your mods.
I was only putting out a money saving solution for the DIY on a budget.
Cheers

After getting the fan and radiator changed, was able to idle for 30 minutes with 15 minutes of that temperature stay around 190 degrees. Now to get the front back on and for the road test.
Ah the front apron. My first TR3, bought well used and abused in 1964 and was my only driver for more than ten years (I still have it now in pieces) had the front apron off and on so many times that I'd skip the hard to get at or damaged bolts and it stayed on mostly by habit.
