She ought to quit the spin and promptly do the following:
1. Aplologize sincerely. Not some half baked lie to save face.
2. State that your emotions got the better of you, and you were disappointed to not win.
3. Apologize to Ms. Underwood for your selfishness and congratulate her.
The story would have flamed out in hours had she done this. Instead she just keeps fanning it. This is PR 101 and she ought to fire her agent for suggesting this ridiculous strategy.
