Failed ignition points?

Too much time in the air. I hate flying these days. Of course I never loved it when I was doing 60-70 trips per year either.

But I will be following "The Exciting Adventures of Tinster", as he takes on the mountain passes and scenic trails, being the first documented TR6 owner who tries to convert it into a Jeep.

Okay Dale, get yourself a 123 distributor. Then keep your points equipped distributor in the trunk as a backup.

Query, did you put cam lube on the rubbing block? If so you should have no concern with the points for several thousands and thousands of miles..

Too late Ronnie, seed planted and growing into large oak.

Okay Dale, read the Austin Healey forum. There is a link on one of the current threads about a troubleshooting pdf for Lucas ignition. You shuld download that and put THAT in the trunk. Lot lighter than a lot of the unnneeded spare parts you are storing(mobile storage) in your trunk.

Dale, leave them alone and drive. I've had a new set of points fail on the road. The block that rubs on the cam broke. I had an old set in the car and with a screwdriver and by eyeball took the broken ones out, put the new ones in, Rolled the cam in the dizzy till they were on the peak of a lobe, eyeballed 0016 and drove on.
