Reading this interesting article I just thought I'd throw this in.

Factory Built Little Cars with Big Motors

Also, Basil, even though it's free to read, the publishers of this article suggest a $20 contribution per year to help offset costs, or more if you'd like. 20 bucks, that's one meal per year! I think it's very proper! How about the BCF? Have you considered something like that to offset your costs? The information and comradery on your site is well worth that and more. They have a nice Pay Pal setup.

Sorry, it's in the wrong thread.

They missed the Jensen CV-8, best of them all (and fastest 4 seater).

Strange you mention that Bill, I was just looking at a couple of those for sale. Problem is, they all seem to be over seas somewhere. UK, Australia, Norway, etc. Weren't any ever sold here?

The article is titled "Factory Built Little Cars with Big Motors". If you start talking about 15' 4" long four-seaters, you might as well consider Bentleys and Rolls Royces too. I'm sure the CV-8 is a fine car, but it isn't little.

I've been looking at the V8 site for a while. Some of those cars look great and some of them look hideous.

Having said that, I wouldn't mind if I got a "fast cars" set up front and rear w/the rear axle, a 302 V8 and an appropriate tranny. I think that would be sweet. Then for being "original" I'd get an A and restore it to its original glory and call it a day. That would satisfy me and the purist(s) in/around me. Like my wife, Steve, Darrin etc.

Ok, let's see if I have this right. The Jensen Interceptor at around 800 pounds more and slightly longer is OK and fits the criteria of the page, but the smaller lighter CV-8 does not?

Excuse me if the logic of that didn't immediately leap out at me. I assume that you would fault them for including the Interceptor in the first place, yet include it they did.

The CV-8 is an inch longer than a V-12 XKE and weighs about the same - is the Jag in or out?

The Aston DB4 they include doesn't even have a large engine at 3670 cc. Presumably they should have included the larger engined Gordon Keeble, Jensen 541......

Your point about the Interceptor is fair, Bill, so I exercised editorial discretion and removed the Interceptor from the article. (It was only five words anyway.)

At 3670cc, the Aston engine is obviously larger than the Rover (Rover/Morgan/MG/TR8 et al) 3.5L V8. That's certainly "large" by British standards. Large enough to win LeMans outright...

Yes, but smaller than the Jaguar 3.8, 4.2 and V-12, none of which appear there.

But hey - your page, your rules; I wouldn't have even looked for internal consistency had you not said the CV-8 was out while the Interceptor was in, defying logic.
