I'm no real fan of modern F1 racing anyway....Bernie and his gang of sissies need to drive <span style="text-decoration: underline">real</span> cars instead of steroidal lawn darts.

How about F1 racing as a spec class where everyone was required to drive stock TR3s?
Now <span style="text-decoration: underline">that</span> I'd pay to see!. :devilgrin:

I gotta see open-wheel TR-3's with pontoon fuel cells and wings......the downforce alone will stop them cold at 42.6MPH.

I figure the reaction times and reflexes needed to pilot those steroidal lawn darts is an exponential leap beyond the skill levels of the drivers of just a decade ago. The young lions in the lead are stunningly adriot at it.

That being said, I certainly think B.E. and crew have too much hold on the current circus. They should be stopped in their quest for personal profit and aggrandizement.

It comesw as no surprise to me that the 2012 USGP in Texas is DOA.

Personally, I would not hold my breath on 2013 in New Jersey, either.
 
I think they need to revert to about 1965 spec cars, including treaded tires and the appropriate width as well. I am sure they are GREAT drivers, but for the most part the racing is a little bit boring.

Doc - I think your words apply to a *lot* of pro sports. And to a number of university varsity programs.

I can't say it's dull. Inside the current restrictions it is what it is.

I'd certainly prefer to go back to "real" racing but the reality is that "rules" have been imposed on the formula for too long. And it's under the control of a few who have NO one to answer to (except themselves).
