F1 Singapore GP

That Spa penalty doesn't seem so bad now.
Decent result, and ironic sense of justice seems to be done.

:iagree:

On to Japan!

I wish I had been able to see the middle, but I only saw the first three laps, and then the last nine due to the Sunday church schedule. What happened in the safety car sections? I heard comments but friends stopped by during the post race discussions on Speed.

Ferrari are their own worst enemy, as far as I can tell.

It's really time for them to re-consider that silly light system in the pits. Go back to the lolipop guy. At least if he makes a mistake it can be corrected quickly ala the Coultard incident, and not the chaos that happened to Massa.

Also, Massa came out right in front of another car on pit lane. How come they didn't give him a penalty?? Oh, that's right, the car was red. :wall:

Massa served a drive through penalty for his unsafe pit exit. Which I view as being as fair as can be. FIA needs a team penalty that doesn't harm the penalize the driver for a non driver mistake. The drive through is a good balance since Massa didn't have to stop. Massa cannot see traffic coming up through his mirrors as there are mechanics blocking the way. Therefore he is dependent upon his "lollipop man" to ensure a safe exit. His lollipop man failed to hold him due to traffic coming down pit lane, and released him with traffic coming. I forget who was coming up, but thankfully he was on his toes and avoided a collision. That's what his penalty was for, the fuel hose incident was just icing on the cake for a horrible pit stop.

While I have a Ferrari flag in my den, I picked it up in the Schumacher era, as I followed Schumacher since his Benetton days. Now I really don't know who to follow, as Kimi was one of Schumacher's thorns in his side, and I can't stand Hamilton as he just seems like a total, well lets just say the language isn't fit for this forum. I really didn't approve of the way McLaren handled Alonso's and Lewis' relationship, and I was actually happy when Alonso took his ball back home to Renault.

All in all, that was a most entertaining race! Lots of interesting action, a "surprize" finish (no red cars in the points!!) and a great inaugural for F1 under the lights...Alonzo and Renault earned the win, Lewis was vindicated from the last race penalty and even Williams made it to the podium!! I WAS impressed with the Ferrari engine, 2 races on it, well over 30 seconds at a standstill in the pits without overheating and it STILL finished the race (is Kimi losing his touch? :eeek: )!! At least we didn't have to sit through the whole thing and then have to watch a "green, white, checker" finish as usually happens in that other "Sunday spectacle"!!

I believe it was Sutil coming down pit lane as it was in the last race also. These are grown men racing and I don't think Alonzo acts his age sometimes along with some of the others. Now DC can be a class act.

I'm sorry, I didn't see that and don't remember it being mentioned. I agree, that's it's up to the team to say when to go, but it just seems to me that this new technology with the lights and fuel hose sensors is just not working. If Ferrari doesn't straighten that mess out, someone's going to get hurt real bad. The incident had another pit worker down on the ground with fuel flying all over the place.

It must have been on real early here.Hopefully someone punted the red cars into a wall.

They're doing it to themselves. No need for anyone to be unsportsmanlike.

Isn't that what happened to McLaren last season?
