F1 Blues

Now there's an idea Gray Cat. It beats the heck out of the streets of Las Vegas.

Bernie needs to bring the F-1 circus to Laguna Seca. Make fortune as the hills would be completely packed with people! Then we watch em' dive into the corkscrew and see if they come out, love it!

By "completely packed"....how would this compare to the numbers in attendance at Indy ????

FFSA cancels 2009 French Grand Prix

By Pablo Elizalde Wednesday, October 15th 2008, 18:23 GMT

The French motorsports federation announced on Wednesday that it will not promote the race in 2009 due to financial difficulties.

"For reasons related to the financial situation, the Federation Francaise du Sport Automobile (FFSA) has decided to cancel the Grand Prix of France," said the FFSA in a statement.

"The FFSA would like to thank all customers who attended the Grand Prix of France and have supported this international event in recent years."

The French race was on the calendar announced earlier this month by the FIA for the 2009 season.

The decision leaves the 2009 calendar with 17 races after the Canadian Grand Prix was also absent from the schedule.

There's still hope...

With a bit of luck more will drop out, leaving that ridiculous Bernie circus high and dry, or confined to such wonders as the Baluchistan Grand Prix, to be run for single make cars running at midnight on a frozen lake or some other nonsense.
Then maybe sanity will return to Grand Prix racing - but I dream!

Laguna Seca could (in theory at least) accommodate up to 200k bodies. The real issue with that is getting everyone in but if Bernie were to bring the circus to Laguna Seca, they could always make more access road. Lot's of hotels etc. around so not a bad venue to make a holiday of it and I really do want to hear Lewis etal scream through the corkscrew!
