Exhaust

Hi, can anyone advise re removal of the (i think) unsightly twin box exhaust on my 1275cc 1972 RWA Midget to be replaced with a single box exhaust that removes the box from under the number plate and so gives the Midget a prettier back end, without losing emissions benefit or performance?

Toby, the earlier single box setup is a direct bolt on. I've got a Falcon Stainless single box on my '72. Sounds sweet, and was an hour job to install from the time I parked the car until I drove away.
