Exhaust - Which tailpipe to which carb?

I've noticed that one of my tailpipes seems to be running rich (black coming out) while the other seems to be running clean. Besides adjusting the carbs and looking at the exhaust pipes, does anyone know which side exhaust pipe corresponds with which carb?

Thanks!

On a BJ8 (with the resonators installed) it would be the outboard side exhaust tip for the rear carb.

Thanks! Just to make sure I'm up with the terminology, you're saying the passenger (right) side exhaust is for the carb closest to the firewall?
