Ever Wonder What they Looked Like New?

It looks to me like in the scanned pic above for the ad there is black in the bezel as well. I think it was just painted on, and if you cleaned and polished them a few times it started to go away. Could some cars have come with all chrome, certainly, don't know, but I think this was part of the safety mandates started in 68 and phosed in over the years, eventually to include side lights, big bumpers etc.

Shifter hats aren't ALWAYS body color than?

Shifter hats are always body color from the factory.

Thanks for the great photos. They should be really valuable when I finally get back to work on my '67.

Check out the clock.

Jack, you car, is simply gorgeous, I love looking pictures of her

if the clock was not purchased as an option, what did they fill the hole with?

was a clock an option on a '74 Midget? I want one !!

right now I got everything I need, WFAN 660 on AM radio, top down, and the last thing I need is a clock so I know when to start heading home !!!

joe

ohh, anyone have a solution for a decent cup holder? If I spill my dunkin donuts iced coffee once more . . . .

Because the clock was a dealer option for a Bugeye it could be mounted where ever the dealer cut the hole as I did. It was not an option for 1974.

Now for the clock, It is from an MGB and has kept perfect time over the past year.

Yep the bezal was wrong so I removed the MGB one and installed a Bugeye one. It now matches all the other insterments.

The movement is German Quartz with a second hand. Even has a light behind it.

You know I have thought about a cup holder and the only thing I can think of is one of those cheep hanging ones from walmart or Kmart or an auto store. Hang it on the passanger door should still be easy to reach.
