How a V-12 Jag has a penchant fer cloggin' up th' dizzy advance?!?

I've seal'd th' cap with th' gasket, used RTV on th' lip, put 2-26 in th' inside of th' cap.... nothin' seems to work on a car that sits for more than a few weeks.

So, he needs to let me come pick it up!

He'll never get rid of th' beast. We've had this thing under our care for over a decade. Gone thru the thing completely since he got it and now it needs work to make it roadworthy (mostly from not running it often enough) again. He had an XK-150 prior to this and THAT was a nightmare every time we'd see it.

Somewhere in the archive I have pix of it just after we'd finished the engine and front frame/suspension rebuild. It was brand-new in appearance. This was taken yesterday:

I wish he'd just buy one of the D_Jag replicas and get it over with.

Carbs are off it now, they'll get rebuilt this coming week. He neglected to mention he was smelling fuel until we called him and told him the carbs were leaking as soon as we switched on the power and they were gonna NEED a full teardown. "Oh yeah, I smelled gas."

FIRE!!!!

I have a line on a 1988 XJ-S V-12 with 80K miles and one owner from new..... Tony does that sound like you??

I haven't seen it yet but when the owner gets back she is going to have me eyeball the thing and help her to sell it.

Someone could be getting a bargain! Any suggestions what she should be asking for it?

I'd like to see photos....being where you are, I'm betting lots of road salt damage.

Depends. There's a little old lady around here with an XJS convertible with much higher mileage than that, and it's perfect. Granted it's not driven once it snows, and doesn't come out till March or April.

This is an elderly owner, and well-to-do. It is, if the lady is to be believed, immaculate still.

These cars are not drived year-round up here Tony, there is waaaaay too much snow and ice on the roads in the winter to make that a practical proposition. It's easier to find a low-mileage exotic such as this up here because they only get driven four months of the year!!

I have yet to go look at it, I shall report my findings and if it's as described you can bet I'll take pictures and start talking about it on the BCF. It will need to go to an enthusiast. Maybe even me, if it can come really cheap!

GET it, Steve!!!

...then plan a Road Trip to warmer climes!

Go for it, Steve.....I've got my Corvette & 380SL.
