I went to see the movie on him just a few years ago.

My wife is from Jerome, Idaho. When we go across the Snake River bridge into Twin Falls, you can still see the mound of dirt where his launch site was for his attempted (and failed)the Snake River jump.

Yeah thats' too bad. Watched a documentary on the guy a while back with interviews. He definitely lived a hard life and must admit that some of his antics where as crazy as those he did on his motorcycle. Always bucked the system when he viewed things a little differently than we mere mortals.

Always thought he looked a lot like my step-dad (mom’s second husband) growing up.

On a side note: I was watching MSNBC when the news broke about his death and they must have a real bunch of idiots working in their research department. Because they showed a photo of Robbie Knievel (Evel’s son).

I always admired the guy. He refused to lose and literally never backed down. I can't imagine the competitive fire that burned in his soul, a very intense guy.

I read a newspaper article about him today, he was quoted as saying that his life was as good as that of princes and kings. And, he also said that he'd earned about $60 million one year, and spent $61 million!

It seems he was grateful for what he had. He most certainly earned it.

Tough friggin' guy, and a good chap to have on your team if the going got tough, I'll bet.

RIP.

I saw this last night. Shame. I remember having a bunch of toys when I was a kid especially the one where you wind it up really fast, let him go & he jumps over ramps. Who didn't want to be him when they were a kid.
