Ethano,l Old Car Killer!

Here in Fletcher, OK we have never had ethanol at the pump. When it became big a few years back we got little signs on the pumps at the gas station proclaiming 100% gasoline not alcohol added. The really weird thing I have run into with pumping ethanol in nearby Lawton is that while my wife's Camaro, and the family van both run fine on it, my 61 IH will run very rough if I forget and fill up with the stuff.
 
all new cars sold in NY are California spec emissions...

There are a bunch of other states that require the California specs. However, the EPA has adopted the California emissions standards as a national standard by the 2016 model year and is collaborating with California regulators on stricter national emissions standards for model years 2017–2025. So, in the near future, there will be only one standard. It does make it easier for the manufacturers.
