Esprit Racing

Hey,
I know that some of you in here are avid racers and I was wondering what the possibilities of racing a S1/S2 esprit is for thh vintage races. Does anyone know if these qualify? I would love to build one but im unsure what rules apply for vintage racing...

Unlikely to be legal in SVRA. Definitley not in VSCCA or VRG.
The only American group I can think of that *might* allow such a car would be the HSR.

is this due to the age? what makes a car legal in those bodies?

Some vintage organizations have an age cutoff, around 1972 or so, unless it's a newer car with a significant racing history, such as the Nissan GTP cars, etc.
Check with VARA in your area. Their rules are, (or used to be, anyway) pretty loose.

werent made before 76/77. Will this change as we move on? It there a reason they generally go with the 1972 date?
