Escaped! Thank God!

If we catch enough of these guys we could send them to Iraq and create our own suicide bomb squads using them against the baddies!!

And one less egg suckin' dog on the streets. He'll go away for a while (not near long enuff to suit me, but), and be marked if he's loose again.

I agree with all of you, if/when he does go away, he will have a terrible time in there. Most other inmates have children on the outside and have the same sentiments as we have.

The one thing the hardened criminals hate is a child molester. So I would hope they just put him in general population and not any type of protective custody for his own safety (like they did here with Paul Bernardo)

Pedophiles in prison hardly ever
make it past a few weeks. They tend
to end of dead. (as it should be).

As a parent, do you almost feel terror every time you read about one of these abductions? Is it happening more often or is it that the alerts make us more aware of how often this really does happen. I'm so glad my boys are out in the garage....stereo is thumpin and I hear tools clanking. Safe and sound

My boys are both grown (one is flying missions over Iraq and Afghanistan in the Air Force), so luckily we're past the age where we worry about such things. However, I can relate to it due to an incident that happened when our youngest was still in grade school. We had all been at a McDonalds on Kirtland AFB when suddenly we noticed that our youngest was missing. In asking around, some people said they had seen a boy matching our son's description getting into a van with some man. Naturally we freaked out and called 911. The base police immediately shut down the base - no cars allowed on or off. We went home (we also lived on the base at that time) and when we got there, we found our son safe and sound. Apparently he had told one of us that he was going to walk home and thought we had heard him, but somehow no one did hear him. All turned out well, but I can understand the terror a parent feels when something like this happens.

Wow frightening story. I have 3 young kids and think about it every time I hear about it. It seems so easy to snatch a kid cause if take your eye off of them for a second they vanish so quickly (usually right near you) It amazes me how well the amber alerts work.

Basil you kindled old memories for me to, and by coincidence my eldest is in the Air Force too! (Space Command Co.). We were attending a charity fair at which many child welfare foundations were represented. when our little one went missing we spent a HARROWING hour or more while the place was in lock-down. The Walsh Foundation was there and did a sterling job tracking him and another little one who had wandered off together to look at ducks by a nearby canal! Theses stories have to be every parents worst nightmare!!!

My VW shop is a few blocks down the street from the Alsup's C'store that the little girl ran into. I was headed there when I decided to stop a local wrecking yard..visited for about 30 minutes and then went to the Alsups for my Lotto ticket and coffee. Everyone was rattled and cops everywhere. If fate had put me there when this had happened....minutes earlier...I would probaly be in jail right now. I talked to the lady that works there as a clerk, andtold me the little girl had a cup in her hand from Dairy Queen...and wanted a hamburger...she was hungry. Story has it she wasn't harmed...we can only pray. Heaven help the "person" that ever touches a child in my family...or any child for that matter.
