English front tag install question

I have a cool old English front tag with MG OWNERS ASSOCIATION script on it. I would like to mount it to my rubber bumper MGB. I bought the mounting bracket from Moss. Do I use wood screws to mount into the rubber bumper? Also, since the bumper is curved and the plate is straight, I guess I need to add some spacers. Thanks Rick

It is your car, but I would suggest you not drill into your rubber bumper. can you bend a couple of "L" brackets that would bolt to the strip underneath the bumper? I think the "B" has a metal strip there. you could then add a cross piece that would attach the two , add a little strength and allow you to mount your plate.

Just a thought...

Ditto... there's got to be better ways to mount a front-plate bracket to an MGB. Most states require front plates, and surely they're not using wood screws to mount the bracket to the bumper.

Good call. Some aluminum strapping, some pop-rivets and a can of Rustoleum bar-b-que black.

All done. Thanks for the advice. I went with the L brackets. Hey Doc, I'll be in your neck of the woods for the Buffet concert on Friday. Rick

You're not done until you show us a picture!

Trying to post a pic, but can't get past file manager. In other words, I don't know how to post a pic even after trying for a long time. I used to be able to post a picture straight from my camera. It's been a couple of years since I posted my last one and the guidlines for picture postings have changed.

It needs to be under 100 kb in size or under 150 if you are a member.

I suspect that with Picassa, you can do like I do with Photobucket. In the "Full Reply Screen" the fourth button from the left (on the button bar across the top) is for inserting an image. click on it, insert the URL and Bob should theoretically be your uncle.

I've pretty much given up on anything that has to do with pictures and computers. I hit a road block with whatever I try to do whether it is posting on the forum, trying to email a pic, or any other kind of posting other than ebay or craigslist.

This should work:

Rick, Have you tried "Paint" in windows to re-size your photos? Works for me every time.
