engine vin tag

ok .. in keeping with the latest in strange requests, the engine vin tag was damaged (when purchased) and removed from the engine when it was cleaned. i have about 3/4 of the number(the last couple numbers) and could probably hack out the first couple. the question is can i get a replacement tag and if so from who (whom?).

i'm not sure why i haven't received a response on this one as of yet. perhaps viewers think i'm beign shady or they honestly haven't had to deal with something like this (hopefully the latter). i could always put the damaged tag back on, but for all the trouble to have the engine made pretty, it would only seem fair to restore the tag. i guess i will improvise on this one. thanks

I dont think any one here thinks your shady.
I know from 75 on that the engine tags do not mean a thing to the car vin. I never saw the tag you mention so I am not much help today. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thirsty.gif
