Hello everyone,I had problems getting my spitfire special to run properly when first put on the road-carburation being very erratic and down on power. After a thousand miles or so,it is running very sweetly.I am told by my local triumph shop that it needs to build up carbon under the rings to seal properly, and this is why. However,I have bought some Engine Restore additive and to use it you have to do an oil flush, then add it to the oil and it does its job in a thou or so. Has anyone any experience of this? Is it worth doing? Will I just go back to bad running for a few months? It has some very impressive claims on the tin about upping compression. You can pour some in the spark plug holes, turn the motor slowly with a spanner, and then remove it again with a syringe, which speeds the process up.Any thoughts would be appreciated.thanks,Stan.
