MGB-GT Engine Problem 74MGB GT

Thanks for letting us know!!! It is sooo hard to try and guess from a distance!! I had thought that they would have done a leak test on the valves before it left the machine shop if they thought it was at all iffy!! anyway, I do hope your Rover does go better!!!

Gary is correct. A leak down test is one of the first diagnostic things to do, to determine if the problem lies in the top end or the bottom. These testers are not that expensive and can save a lot of frustration. Good Luck, Rick
